BUFFALO, N.Y. — The planned demolition of a Buffalo Catholic Church has been put on hold.

A spokesperson for the diocese tells us tonight that Bishop Richard Malone has agreed to allow St Ann’s Catholic Church on Broadway to be put on the market.

All three buildings on its campus, which includes a convent and a school, will be marketed with the help of the group Preservation Buffalo Niagara.

Despite this temporary stay, we’re told the church remains closed and will not be used for Masses because the building is in poor shape.

Meanwhile, the search for a buyer with an appropriate plan for the rehabilitation and redevelopment of the site is already underway.
